The Perfect Cocktail to Enjoy in the Fall – Spiced Rum Apple Cider
The Spiced Rum Apple Cider Cocktail is an excellent beverage option for holiday gatherings, be it Halloween, Thanksgiving, a Fall wedding celebration, or just sitting by the fire with friends and family. This rich and flavorful drink is one of my personal favorites that I like to call Rum & Spider, which is a play on the fact that it is cider, and near Halloween. Get it… Spiders are scary, and this Rum and Spider is SPOOKY DELICIOUS!
Preparation is Easy!
Preparing this drink is a breeze, requiring only a simple mix-and-serve process. Plus, you won’t even need a shaker, making it a convenient choice for large gatherings where you can whip up a pitcherful in no time. With all of the ingredients being readily available and not coming with an extravagant price tag, this makes the Rum and Spider an excellent option especially when you’re working with a tight budget.
After experimenting a few times, I finally created the perfect version of this cocktail. I found that the combination of the sweetness from the apple cider and the aromatic spiciness from the ginger beer delivered the best subtle autumn taste I was looking for. Spiced rum was the natural choice for this, as a regular white rum would not enhance the natural spice flavors you get with the darker spiced rum. This mixed drink is just what you need on a cool Fall evening as it has just the right amount of booze to give your body that warming sensation it craves. Try this Spiced Rum Apple Cider cocktail recipe! Believe me, it’s absolutely tasty!
Recipe Ingredients:
Spiced Rum Apple Cider
“Rum & Spider”
Liquids:
2oz. Spiced Rum
3oz. Apple Cider
3oz. Ginger Beer
Cinnamon Sugar Rim:
1oz. Water
1 tsp. Granulated Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon
Garnish:
1 Cinnamon Stick
1 apple Slice
HOW TO MAKE THIS CIDER BEER COCKTAIL RECIPE
First, rim the serving glass with cinnamon sugar. (This is totally optional if you are cutting calories). You will need to setup two plates, one will be for the water, and the other is to coat the rim in the cinnamon sugar mixture. To allow the sugar to stick to the rim, simply dip the rim into water, then immediately into the cinnamon sugar mixture you have spread out on the plate. Swirl the cup around to ensure the entire rim is covered in the cinnamon sugar.
Making apple cider cocktail rum is super easy. I don’t think there is a more straightforward recipe than this.
Add water & cinnamon sugar to plates.
Dunk the rim of the glass into the water
Immediately swirl the rim of glass in Cinnamon sugar mixture
Next, fill the cup with ice, do this carefully so you do not knock off the sugar from the rim. Now add in your favorite spiced rum, apple cider, and ginger beer. Stir with a spoon, straw, or whatever utensil is handy. If you want a more thorough mix and have a cocktail shaker at your disposal, you can mix the rum and apple cider with a small amount of ice, seal the shaker top, and shake it up for a few seconds in order to combine the liquids. Pour it into a glass, then top with the ginger beer. (Do not add ginger beer in shaker as it is carbonated and can make things messy.
Lastly, garnish with a cinnamon stick and slice of apple, and now for the best part – Take a sip and ENJOY!
